I honestly can’t tell you the last time I saw a Legend. It was pretty clean too, although the color is uggo.
Also saw this ratty Custom Cruiser. Having seen the owners, I’m guessing they bought it new.

And a mini minivan.
No pic, but I also saw a black Eurovan. Pretty eventful trip to the Post Office this morning.

A Legend.
With Illinois plates.
And no rust.

That Cruiser looks very much like the one my family had.

Those Legends are still fairly common around Seattle - I think they sold a lot of them here when new. The Expo is quite unusual anymore.

I love that the old dude had raised white letter tires put on it.

I noticed that. Those wheels are rad, but sooo out of place on that car. I feel the need to congratulate him.

Ugh, it’s why we can’t have nice things. It figuratively kills me that my truck’s rocker panels are starting to go.

I see solid 80s cars still on the road virtually every day.

yeah, but they all have about 18 billion miles on them... (I’ll bet you are right about them selling bunches of them here - especially the first gen.)

Man. I am jealous of that.
I did see a clean 944 yesterday on the road.

There’s an older guy in my area who apparently commutes in an early 70s 911. It’d probably dissolve there.

Indeed, these along with old Lexi don’t seem to exist under 6 digits anymore.
For first gen cars, I seem to spot more coupes, maybe they received better care.

That color Legend is so ridculously period-accurate for the early 90s, it probably has Nirvana Unplugged in the tape deck.

The thing is, tan/gold is completely invisible to police officers. They just can’t see vehicles made in that color. However, any vehicle in a bright color, especially sports cars, can be seen just as they crest over the horizon.

Yeah, those would dissolve before your very eyes. There is a guy who DDs an 80's 911 around here. It’s sporting a bit of rust.

It is, but judging from the crowd at that estate sale, the Starland Vocal Band is more likely.

I dunno, there may be something to that. When I bought my gold Roadmaster wagon, I drove it for a solid month without plates. When I was selling it, I drove it for another month with expired plates. Never got pulled over.

Rust takes a long time to develop here, a car has to sit outside to develop any special interest areas. With the damp weather, some cars will rust, especially 70s era Japanese cars, and anything from the 60s on back. My fintail isn’t 100% rust free - one of the trunk wells is a little soft, and there are a couple of small bubbles on the driver’s side. But as the car has lived in a garage for many years, it doesn’t appear to be growing.
